Cosmopolitan woman

I don't know what could be more Cosmopolitan than Rita Levi Montalcini, 100 year-old, Noble-Prize winning scientist, and Italian senator for life.

She lived under Benito Mussolini's Fascist regime and in a recent AP article she said, "I should thank Mussolini for having declared me to be of an inferior race. This led me to the joy of working, not any more unfortunately, in university institutes but in a bedroom."

At her 100th birthday celebration she said, "At 100, I have a mind that is superior—thanks to experience—than when I was 20."

Happy Birthday from the Cosmopolitan Clevelander!
