Black Friday Sales: 4 Things I Love

Was the turkey amazing? Was the pie delicious? I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Today I'm sharing four things I love that are currently on sale for Black Friday. Which sales are you most excited about?

Up to 75% Off Kate Spade Purses
I love this purse and use it constantly! This exact version is not on sale, but there are many like it. It's so lightweight I can wear it anywhere (including grocery shopping). I love its classic shape and color. This would make a great gift for you or someone else and similar versions are under $100 right now.

40% Off J.Crew Wool Coats
I originally bought this coat to wear in Paris, but I haven't stopped wearing it since I bought it. It's a great fall/winter coat because the stadium wool makes it super warm, but it's overall cut and length makes it very lightweight. It also has beautiful details like the pink satin lining and gold metal zipper. Currently, you can get it for $210.

40% Off Lush Tunics

This tunic is a great wardrobe staple. Its versatility speaks for itself. I've layered it over everything from leggings to work pants, under cardigans and sweaters, or just jeans in the summer. It's a great modern and updated blouse.

35% Off Thread & Supply Pullover

This is the comfiest, warmest, softest thing I own. Even though it's loungewear, I feel like it's nice enough to wear outside of the house, which means you can literally walk around in what feels like a warm fuzzy hug all day if you want to.

Well, that's it! I hope you found this helpful. Happy shopping everyone!

My Black Friday Shopping List

The biggest shopping holiday is almost upon us. Every year around this time, I try to take stock of what's missing from my closet before Black Friday, so I can buy some of the wardrobe staples I need for a fraction of the price. Here are a few of the items on my list. What's on yours?

Work wear for the fall and winter months, like this  J.Crew Factory Suede Skirt, is easy to find during this time of year. I'm especially in need of pants and skirts that will pair well with sweaters.

Holiday party wear is another category usually featured as part of most Black Friday sales. Everything is either glittery or Christmas plaid this time of year. These J.Crew Factory Glitter Flats would be great for an office holiday party paired with black pants and a green or red sweater.

Since most brands offer a discount across their entire store, now is a great time to stock up on basics like t-shirts and leggings. I can't get these Loft Velvet Leggings out of my mind. They would be great for work, holiday parties, or just lazy Saturdays. They look comfy yet sophisticated.

It seems like every retailer offers pajamas this time of year as a gift option and there are so many varieties to choose from. Now is a great time to pick up sets like this Target Striped Flannel Pajama for a little less.

Big chunky sweaters like this Topshop Mock Neck Sweater seem like they are hard to find earlier in the season. And if you do find something like this, they are usually full price. That's why now is the time to stock up on really high-quality sweaters like this one.

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving. Soon we'll be mashing the potatoes, slicing the turkey, and Reddi Whipping the pie while watching giant cartoon characters float through New York City on TV. Thanksgiving is starting to become one of my favorite holidays because of its simple premise: gathering for a good meal with the people you love most and being thankful. That's it and I love it. In my opinion, there is no better way to be. I love celebrating and appreciating my gracious hosts by wearing a thoughtfully put together outfit befitting the occasion. To help make your holiday a special one, I've put together three outfit ideas from casual to dressy that will hopefully inspire your ensemble. Cheers to being grateful with the ones you love!

Outfit Idea #1: Dressy Top / Jeans / Pumps / Chunky Necklace
This is likely what I will be wearing since it's pretty casual at my aunt's house. It's just relaxing on the couch and eating really good food all day. I love the idea of elevating a pair of jeans with a statement blouse like this one.

Outfit Idea #2: Chambray Top / Black Skirt / Loafers / Chunky Necklace
This is a good option if you're going to someone's house for Thanksgiving for the first time and you're not sure of the dress code. It's dressy but not overly so.

Outfit Idea 3: Plaid Scarf / Black Dress / Riding Boots
I love this look for a dressier dinner. You could easily wear this with black heels instead of riding boots if it's really dressy.

A Good Sweater Blazer Can Update Your Work Look

Details: J.Crew Factory Sweater Blazer (Similar) / Banana Republic Factory Blouse (Similar) / Banana Republic Factory Leggings / Everlane Loafers

We just got back from Paris on Saturday and I'm admittedly still a little jet-lagged as I write this. Despite that fact, I'm excited to get back in the swing of things because Paris had such great style inspiration. Everywhere you go there are Parisians mastering the I'm-not-trying-but-look-amazing look. This outfit is definitely inspired by that philosophy. It's a simple look yet it has interesting details.

The sweater blazer, which is my new favorite addition to my wardrobe, offers a modern and relaxed fit that instantly updates any work outfit. I especially like this version (which is unfortunately sold out, but I found a similar version) because it doesn't have the button like some sweater blazers. I think that makes it look too similar to an actual blazer when the appeal of the sweater blazer is the looser fit. And I love the lapel because you can either turn up or down depending on what top you wear with it. Turned up, I think it looks especially sophisticated. It adds the necessary structure to the blazer, which really complements the relaxed fit. The blouse adds another element of interest with pleats that pop out of the collar and sleeves. And the color scheme is once again simple yet sophisticated. The menswear inspired loafers reinforce the look. I can see a lot more outfits like this in my future. What do you think? Are you inspired by Parisian style sensibilities?
